What do you mean "allowed" the peaceful march to become violent? The march itself didn't become violent, there was another group that came at the same time, dressed in black, all prepared to do violence, that did not come from the original march. The original protest continued, peacefully. How does the protest have control to "allow" or "deny" another group to come in and be violent?
This is what I mean. Protesting can and does attract these
groups of violent acts. The mayor warned there might be
people coming in to do just that.
Why weren't the police able to take their weapons away
at first. No, they had to wait until they got the "okay" from
the Mayor...great!

And further more, -Alex, Tea Party people don't camp out
and cause disruptions . Like what was found from our
Seattle Occupiers. Found needles, a child uncared for,
trash all over, camping where it's not allowed. Should I
go on?
You said "all marches, including marches for cancer, do
nothing but raise awareness". That would be great, if it
was true.
Why bring the Tea Party into this----no comparison.

I understand plenty. And understand that with old age comes stubbornness. I'm sorry you lost your critical thinking skills long ago.
Hah! You sure remind me of PPS. Could it be that you have returned???

I think it's because he wants to know every
detail in your answer. Like a lawyer. Questions
your remarks.
Either that, or I don't explain my thoughts clearly
for him.
And you sure know how to bring out the best
of him. I have to laugh.

Re: May Day
If Occupiers advertise that they are going to march and protest certain areas...why do they advertise so soon? Is it to get these thugs to come and tear up the town? I would love it if they caught everyone of those thugs. I just don't know what to think any more...I think one thing tho, the Occupiers like it when the thugs do something terrible, they get more attention....if that didn't happen, who would even listen to them now? I'll not soon forget the mess they made in Seattle the last time....

A get together where women are raped, people are assaulted, children are molested, people defecate in the streets and on police cars and planning to blow up bridges is done. A true family event.
Yeah, a few incidences of the many places and long-standing protests, that stuff happened. So let's pretend ALL of the Occupy protests EVERYWHERE, around the world, were all like that - and every single person at those get-togethers were all raping and assaulting people. Just to be fair, of course, not biased at all...

Translation: I'm going to ignore most things and spin the rest of what Occupy says, and insert my own prejudices in their place. I don't actually care about their beliefs, I'm going to call them some overused buzzword with negative connotation, I am going to pretend I know all of their mental state better than them, I'm going to attack them all as being immoral, and pretend they support the black bloc and have said anything about their violence being 'diversity of expression.' Damn kids, get off my lawn!!

Ok, that has nothing to do with the protesters, this post is putting it all on the police department. I would have had no problem with police taking weapons away! That could actually help prevent this, and get the protest heard and the focus of the news!

Yes, there is a comparison. And there are also contrasts. Ever heard of a Venn Diagram? Just because there are contrasts, doesn't mean there are not comparisons - there definitely are. And I mentioned the tea party because you were talking about political protests and how they do nothing - the tea party is an example of a political protest.

Uh, care to actually go into detail other than "you're wrong"? You didn't even explain which part you thought was wrong. You think they don't even raise awareness? Or you think they do more?

Because most rallies advertise so soon. They have to get the word out and get people interested in protesting with them. And they have to get a permit. This one, specifically, is held concurrently with protests around the world, so they wanted to give time for people to organize in their own cities.
Is it to get these thugs to come and tear up the town?
No.
I would love it if they caught everyone of those thugs.
Me too.
I think one thing tho, the Occupiers like it when the thugs do something terrible, they get more attention
I doubt it. Out of all this attention, how many people can name why the Occupiers were protesting? They had plenty of signs, plenty of people out to support union workers, unions rights, immigration policy, etc. When did those make headlines?

What a ignorant line when the police are having to put in over time. Where does that money magically come from? Where does it?
