Update Manager
I have a program on my desktop called InstallShield, which is an "update manager". It downloads every once in a while and apparently searches for updates to programs on my computer. It never seems to find any. Does this program slow down my computer? Is it useful for anything? Do I gain by deleting it?Thanks.

Re: Update Manager
InstallShield is a program used to many applications to handle installation and update chores. All you'd gain by deleting it is having to reinstall it when you want to install or update a program that requires it. It shouldn't be affecting the performance of your computer except when you're actually using it.
