Cirago external USB 3.0 drive

I remember trying to decide between a 5 or a 10 megabyte hard drive for my first PC.

I just tried out a 500-gigabyte external drive from Cirago that -- with a list price of $89.99 -- cost a fraction of what I had to spend for my first hard drive. And it's USB 3.0 compatible. True, there aren't many computers out there yet with USB 3.0. But the Cirago drive will work just fine with earlier USB iterations. And when you move to a machine with USB 3.0 you're all set.

Used with USB 3.0 you can expect transfer speeds up to 4.8 gigabytes per second. OK, that's the official line on USB 3.0 and you rarely ever get that. But even if your actual performance is only 2 gbps you'll be able to use the drive to stream media. The drive is plug-and-play with Windows 7/Vista/XP and -- with measurements of only 3.25x5.3x0.5" -- its very transportable. You can find out more at http://cirago.com.
