Tiebreaker in points standings...
OK, so i hear that the way the MLS has decided to utilize 'goals scored' as a tiebreaker with teams of even points in the standings. Nice, but flawed.
It seems the idea is to generate goals. Fine, but it strives to make the game one dimensional. A brilliant defensive display is not rewarded with a 'goals only' tie breaker. The game is played in 3-D, man... The 3rd Dimemsion is outstanding individual on the field who may catch fire one game and make the difference. Could be defensive, offensive, movement off the ball to direct the flow of the game, whatever it be. Something that there is no statistic for...
Point differential is the only solution to break a tie in the standings in deciding playoff position.

btw... Sounders have the best point differential in the MLS. +10. far ahead of anyone else...
