Re: Mustang Yearlings and Youth program is back!!!
Did you get your filly Eventer? She did a nice job at the show considering she only had a month with her trainer. She's cute plus has a great spirit, too!

Eventer, hope you ended up with Shawnee. Her new handler is in my daughter's 4H club. They gave her her first bath right next to our stalls, and she handled it amazingly well after the first "It burns! The water burns!" moments:)

Yes! I picked her up yesterday afternoon from Steve R. who was looking after her for the weekend as I was away. She loaded up great, unloaded quietly, and is a total love. I groomed her and picked up all her feet, introduced her to spray bottles, and just let her settle in. I let her and Zephyr meet over the fence and Zeph was very polite and didn't try to nip or squeal. I'm hoping she'll be her "big sister." I'm also hoping to be ponying her at the TD Halloween prize ride. It'll be good exposure for her to be around the hustle and bustle as well as learning to be a trail horse. I'll take some pics tonight and post them soon.

Great! Maybe we'll see you at the prize ride. She and the other Mustang, Sky, spent a lot of time mutual grooming. hopefully your mare will, too.

Here's a pic of Xena that I took at the MYWY:

I tried inserting the pic but it cut off her head. Need to resize it.

She is! Eyeballing, I'd say she's about 14 hands. I was watching her move and she is very long strided. Huge overstep at the walk. She'll have no trouble making a 12 foot distance. Hopefully she'll like eventing as I plan to take her maybe to prelim but we'll see. I'm expecting her to top 15.2.
