Re: Photos du jour
There are tons of pictures that people have posted here that are beautiful. I was recently introduced to a website that will take your beautiful photos and print them on canvas. We had a photo done - the one above of the horses running in the snow - and it turned out amazing. It isn't cheap, but if you have spare cash, a once in a lifetime photo, or a special occasion coming up, it might be worth it. I just had this photo printed as well, and we are building a frame from the old barn boards we have salvaged around our property. The website is called canvas pop, and I am in no way affiliated with it (unfortunately). But I am impressed enough with the picture we received I thought I would pass the info along.

Kriss, Thanks for the tip on the canvas pop website!
Today, it was fun to run into Monica Bretherton, right, on Danny and Cathy Leddy on Galen -- their handsome Akhal-Tekes at Lord Hill:

It's a mystery! This Dumpster showed up in the middle of the equestrian lot. The rangers are investigating.

Are all the trails there that well groomed and wide? this is some thing I am not used to ridding on. I never ride on trails that well groomed and graveled.

Re: Photos du jour
The Dumpster was gone today!
Horsepeople, You asked if all the trails are well-groomed and wide. No. The shot above is in the parking lot where there's gravel. We've hauled gravel to some muddy, short sections. There are some single-track trails. The volunteers can't keep up with all the work but we do the best we can. Since the park is near the metropolitan area, it gets a lot of multi-use traffic. That's why we try to create visibility for safety. Your Green Mtn. sounds remote and ideal.

not as remote as one thinks of the west side of the puget sound, heck by ferry from seattle the mt is only 2 hours away just as close as eastern wa to most folks but people just don't think of the olympic peninsula as a great destination spot to ride even with several horse camp grounds one which is open year round 24/7 and the others that are open from memorial day to labor day for weekend green mt and reserved camping at tahuyea forest. plus the other places out in the rainforest to ride and camp on the coast. people only see ocean shores as a destination place but there is much more than beach riding much much more. I know there are at least 3 more day riding areas that are not listed on trailmeister yet and more camp areas not listed as well just haven't found them all yet.

Cody got a little ramped up when he ran into the Northwest Horseback Search and Rescue training session in the background. Mike did a lot of circling, etc. to keep him busy. When they got home, they worked in the arena so that Cody didn't get the reward of immediately being turned loose.

Re: Photos du jour
Finally got Joe back on the trails since December. We rode from about 6 to 7 pm on Saturday. As it was getting pretty dark, the last bit of light was shining on puddles, causing Cody to freeze and stare. At the same time, we heard a loud scream from a nearby cougar. Not a good time to be stuck.
Won't be going out again so late. This shot was from an earlier ride during the day. Anyone else had a chance to work your horse?

Hihosilver and I ran across Jenny McCall, of Backcountry Horsemen, and a friend on the trails today.
