Re: Team that rescued 2 donkeys from flooded field is nominated
Donkeys do not like to be wet given baths ever they do learn to tolerate a bath. They do not have the oils like horses do to shed off water/snow and it soaks threw to the skin relatively fast which makes them cold. Donkeys are desert animals and it just plain doesn't rain much in those arid dry places they are from. They will cross streams but swimming is not in the cards for them. I can bet those 2 donkeys where very happy to have help getting to a dry place and put a ton of trust into the rescuers to get them to a dry warm place.
