Postby tsparki on Wed Jan 23, 2013 9:53 pm

Start 2013 off the right way…..

Join us for a 3 part dressage clinic.
Here is your opportunity to ride with an USEF gold, silver, and bronze medalist and a silver and bronze bar recipient at a phenomenal price!

Hidden Falls Farm is proud to present a 3 part dressage clinic with resident trainer/instructor Kim Lacy. This clinic will consist of 2 lesson style days, with the 3rd day being a ride and review where you select the test you ride, ride it and get both written and verbal feedback. What a great way to start the season!

Kim has a quiet methodical way of teaching with a planned approach for each horse and rider. She has a great ability to recognize the current ability of each horse and rider team and increases the expectations as the team progresses.

Kim is phenomenal with the problematic and quirky horse and has the ability to recognize true fear from bad behavior.

Kim is a trainer who believes that personal continued education/instruction is important and regularly clinics with Janet Foy (International Dressage judge) Barbara Koot (Dutch A team member) Conrad Schumacher (German National team member) and lessons with local trainer Gwen Blake who was long listed for the 2004 Olympics.
Kim has personally trained and shown through Grand Prix with multiple Regional and National titles in both breed and open classifications. Additionally, several of Kim’s students have received their bronze and silver medals as a result of her coaching.

Kim enjoys teaching all levels of riders from ages 5 to 100 and is non-discerning of tack, ability or breed of horse.

CHARITY POKER RIDE ON APR. 13, 2013: I am a volunteer for Cowgirl Spirit Rescue Drill Team. Their mission is to "rehome" horses consigned to slaughter or abysmal living circumstances. They take them in, work with them on trusting people again, assess their capabilities physically and training wise. They have made many successful adoptions.

But it is expensive. So join them at their annual fund raising event - The Poker Ride on Apr. 13 at Bridle Trails Park. There is a "walkers" poker too for those who can support them that way, other games, lunch and see their Facebook page for more detail. It all starts at 9:00. It looks to be a great time. especially if their are a lot of people at the event. So please come help a good cause; there will be plenty of post-adoption horses there as good examples of the work they do.

Hollywood Hill Saddle Club is having open JUMPING DAYs on May 18th, and later in the summer on AUG 3. These are not shows, but a place to come to practice. We have a nice large outdoor arena, warm up arena and round pen. There will be 12 Fences. We start with ground poles and work our way up to at least 3', higher if there is a desire for that. There is no judge or winner; it is great for green horses, novice riders and those who love to jump as well as anyone that description doesn't cover.

Not only that, why spend your money on a show and ride a set course of 8 jumps under strict rules. At Hollywood Hill each round is $10 for 10 fences (our course or your own line), after 4 rounds they are $7.00/ round, the refusal penalty is relaxed, and even if you have 4 refusals, you can continue your course, your trainer can talk to you during the round and parking is free. What more could you want on a nice Saturday in May as the season is gearing up? Give yourself and your horse a treat and come have more fun one weekend, see new fences, correct a bad habit or two that would count you down at a show, and meet new people.

Our Web page has more specifics and the registration form: Hollywoodhilllsaddleclub.com at the hunter/jumper page.
