Parades
Is anyone interested in participating in Parades around the Seattle/King County area? I'd like to get a group of horse owners together that could ride (or drive) in parades through out the year. There are parades in different locations that could be attended from Snohomish County down to Pierce County.
My horses have been in parades before. The crowd really enjoys seeing them there. Sometimes there is an entry fee, which may come out to $5 per person, but it depends on the parade. If there is enough interest in the future we could find a business to sponsor the parade group in exchange for advertising (just an idea).

Most of the parades up here require some kind of insurance.

Re: Parades
We've never been asked for insurance in any of the parades we've participated in, both with and without horses.

Re: Parades
We participate in a few parades--mostly close to home. It can get very expensive to get a team (or four) to the venue. The effort usually takes the whole day. Some of our sponsors ask for proof of insurance. We carry insurance due to the nature of our operation(s). I have a book of parade stories--some funny some downright terrifing. A parade can really test your mettle. There are a few parades that I wouldn't do-even at gunpoint! "There is no underestimate of the stupidity of the public." (P T Barnum) Some of the parades really make us appreciate our horses.
