The Seattle Times has a story today on the fact that Snohomish County just banned horse slaughter so I created a new thread for that. But here's a link to the story in case you'd like to comment here. What to do about the some 180,000 unwanted horses in the U.S.? The numbers have grown since we started this thread 4 years ago.

The issue of horse slaughter has been back in the news.

From HorseTalk: "Oklahoma’s govenor has signed a bill permitting horse slaughter in the state, saying those who care about horses cannot be happy with a status quo that encourages abuse and neglect."
