Horsepeople, I hope you have power by now! Do you leave your generator on at night to run a furnace? Ours is pretty loud, and we've occasionally run it all night to power our pellet stove. Has anyone been struck by the latest storm? We're expecting 3 inches in the Convergeance Zone by morning.

yes the power is back on and yes we run the generator all night to keep the pellet stove going otherwise it would be freezing in the house and I am not into being that cold. we got a few more inches over night last night. the funny part is out power wasn't taken out by wind it was the heavy wet snow that messed every thing up. it isn't too bad to run our house is very well insulated and we can barely hear the generator on the back porch.

Looks like more snow may be headed our way early this morning. Is anyone else dealing with weather? Horsepeople, I envy you with a quiet generator. I have trouble sleeping when ours is on, and I imagine our neighbors do, too. :( An upgrade is on the long list of things we need.

well when the power goes out in our neighbor hood it is kinda funny because almost every person out here that has been here for more than a year has a generator for power outages and some kind of back up heat source. so we all just automatically start them and the chorus of generators beings. most are small back up portable ones like ours. this is a lake community suburbia out in the sticks. we have a community water system and one road into the neighbor hood. the lake is private yet public as the state plans on building a small boat launch on it some time in the future when they are not as broke. we have a private park owned by the community and that one is off limits to non residents they just have to wait for the state to build the public one. which is on hold due to lack of funding.
Oh ad we are getting more snow as I type this allot more! seems it has been snowing off and on here since sunday morning. that is more on than off!

Horsepeople, You guys have been hit hard this year. We only had a dusting on Wednesday and then the rain washed it away. Man, we're getting drenched now, but here was the view on Wednesday morning:

yes just got internet back this afternoon, our house next door where my mom lives the back porch roof is collapsed from the snow, the truck has gotten stuck 2 times in the barn yard area. had to clear a path with the tractor to feed the stock. hubby also cleared a couple of neighbors drive ways. we still have over a foot and melting think it ended up at around 16 to 18 inches of heavy wet snow. now every thing is gonna get all floody and wet. gonna go with the word of the day being craptastic!!

I am sick of the rain! Winter has only just started, and I am sick of it already. Even the farm is warmer than usual, and it has been raining here too. We bought on the East side of the mountain so we would not have as much rain... :(

Sorry about the whining. Thanks for listening...
