ended up with roughly 3 inches by sundown, it is supposed to be a rain/snow mix again today. With as cold as it is I am figuring on just snow.

Joan, besides the halter, that "shadow" along his neck is not a shadow. He layed in his poop.

ok all the stories about hood canal have tons of SNOW are true. I have around 8 inches of snow so far today and it is not letting up. I put my stock tank heaters back in the tanks because I figured I caused this bad luck and may be able to reverse it.

This afternoon looked like summer but we've had anything but for the last several days. Last Friday morning we were hit hard by torrential rains and lightning. Then there were a string of thunderstorms. And several mornings have been chilly and foggy. In this foggy morning shot, Cody is on the left and Grace the right.

Quite a shot Joan! I understand about the weather, E. Lewis county has had such strange weather for July. Yesterday was 80 degrees and about 76% humidity-ugh..The horses and goats were miserable and even my chickens were out in the shade panting!
It was so humid in the late afternoon you could see the water vapor in the air-no thunderstorms although it looked like it should be raining.

We're getting drenched with record rains this week -- and a possible 100 inches of snow is forecast at Mount Rainier. How are you, your horses and drainage holding up?

My front yard in Gresham is under a couple of inches of water. It rained so hard when I was at work today water was pouring into the hangar through 3 different doors. The farm, in Central Oregon (the dry side of the state) received nearly 2 inches of rain in 24 hours. It is a soupy, sloppy mess. I hope I can get the tractor in there this weekend to scrape the slop from the barn area and If I can get to something solid, I can dump rocks out there.

currently at 5:15 am on the 17th I am posting this on generator power. we have about 6 inches of heavy wet snow and some wind but not much will have to refuel the generator around daylight if the power isn't back on. We over here on the hood canal are supposed to get more snow over the next few days.
