Laminitis seems to be the focus but apparently there could be implications for other diseases. I wonder about navicular.

wonder if they can examine the differences between bare and shod and then determine how to help a horse then when it comes to hoof problems.

Unfortunately, there is no money to be made in shoeless research. There are no gadgets or quick fixes. Those of us who go shoeless know, and others will follow as they figure it out.

I was just thinking if they had research proof that bare was better and healthier for the horse that more people would figure it out faster. I can't convince my husband to let his horse be bare with boots for riding on rough areas, so he has shoes but my main ride is shoe less and so are my three donkeys even the mammoth is bare.
