Re: I Am Enraged and Saddened
Gun violence, as I hope you understand is NOT just the mentally disturbed here! All this talk about drugs is only a tiny fraction of the entire issue. Do you really need more than 10 bullets to defend yourself? Should you be able to go on line and buy and shoot a weapon within a couple of hours without a background check? Many people own guns and many don't even have a gun safe or trigger locks! Why shouldn't gun owners have the responsibility of buying insurance against theft or other damage caused by their weapon?
Gun violence is always going to be in our society but don't we own the responsibility of at least reducing death? More people are killed each year in the U.S. than killed in Iraq and Afghanistan together! This just shouldn't be.

I know gun violence is not just
the mentally disturbed on drugs.
But anyone who shoots to kill must
be disturbed mentally to some degree!
It's a start of trying to stop this rampage
of killings, don't you think?
Some controls should be placed on guns.

Blaming God, eh ?
God is patient. He doesn't always intervene in our problems. He prefers that we ask very specifically for His help in everything. He never fails on His promises. The truth is revealed to each one of us in His word.
Sometimes He even bargains with people to save the Just and innocent... like he did with Abraham before He rained down sulfer and fire on your Alma Mater, Sodom, Alex.....where every man had succumbed to wickedness.

No, I don't think God creates mental illness, perpetuates it, or is to blame. I do realize that why I posted that was entirely unstated and unclear, and could be misinterpreted, I apologize. I saw you attack the so called "God of science" for doing nothing, and I thought we should take that in the proper context - that the "God of faith" is doing nothing either. And your whole post could be well used itself as against faith, if only you had changed some things around. Of course, do people always judge these two "gods" as you put it on the same factors? I probably wouldn't have even made the comment on your attack on science in the first place if you didn't mention "god."
The God of science is patient. He doesn't always reveal the complete truth. He prefers that we study very specifically for the truth in everything. Science never fails on it's methods. The truth is revealed to each one of us in study.
You are an incredibly disprespecful person, mel bradford, and you should be ashamed of yourself for attacking me that way. I am always surprised the people who speak about their faith and God out of one side of their mouth, and are purposefully disrespectful at the same time to other people.

You blamed God for 'sitting idly by' and 'doing nothing'. ergo...God is derelict/ neglectful....Alex
The 'god of science' is a man made god. Its worshippers are generally made up of sceptics, utopians, collectivists, etc who think that man can be improved upon in the laboratory. Their places of worship are NASA, UN Climate change dept, AIDS research, Planned Parenthhod, a host of foundations and non profits and of course The Government Funding Office . The god of science works closely with the god of money, the god of academia and the entire panoply of "we are smarter than God" practitioners.
If Sodom isn't your Alma Mater.......then disown it. Otherwise foist your shame and convenient victim complex on someone else...because I don't buy it.

Does God love Mel more than me? Melvin????? Your irrational rant from NASA to Planned Parenthood pretty much shows how you personally feel about anyone who may disagree with your personal and very tainted judgement.
What if Jesus suddenly appeared here on this Earth and everyone knew it? At the very same time, so does Mohamed. There is talk of the final battle. Which of the two wins, MELVIN????

No games here. I'm not giving my opinion. Those slamming any other religion other than christianity should take a good hard look at this and answer according to their belief. I would think there would be varied opinions. Why the great reluctance of the devote around here anyway?
