Strange how some react. It's over and
what's new today?
I wish someone could come up with a
solution. Doubt that will ever happen.
I wrote on another post about the depression
drugs affecting people in some horrible ways.
If you listen to the ads on TV, some of the
warnings says "you could have suicide thoughts,
and etc. If this is correct, then we should start
with depression drugs and find out more.
They haven't been thought of in this way, even
though they can have a bad effect on a person.

It is a begining anyway. We can not blame alll of this on the mentally ill. Our current culture has a part as well as the ease of getting any weapon you want without checks in a matter of minutes. As Glen and I tried to express in the start of this thread...there are common sense solutions that will not harm the 2nd ammendment and then the inbreds weighed in! Jeesh! I do not need more than 10 bullets in a clip to protect myself from a home invader. I would actually worry more about my weapon being turned against me! I can be as armed as the military but the bad guy will always have the advantage of surprise.

If it's caused by medicine, who know's
for sure? This is what should be looked
into. Then again, money is behind it.

Lynn? It does not matter! The boogeyman is real as we have sadly found out. The importance of preventing the murder of innocent babes as well as so many others should concern the intellegent mind with common sense measures.

I'm not understanding "it does not matter"?

Look to the past. If it's a black man, it's racial. If it is a white man it's either mentally ill or politics. It does not matter! The shed blood is rivers! It continues every single day! The dead are dead and there are more to come.

I'm about ready for good news, aren't you?
One fellow designed a white board they use
in schools that cannot be penetrated by a
bullet. But it covers the trunk of the body,
so all else is in view. It's a start. Like the
shields of olden days, and the police who
are in riots....only smaller.

A white board as a shield? Why not razor wire around all schools in this nation where teachers are underpaid and constantly attacked for organizing? Where education takes a backseat to rightwing idiology? Where poor children are NOT afforded a decent education to begin with? Wait, maybe poor children schools should not get those all protective whiteboards! They really are not worth the same as our children are they?

Whiteboards are a standard in the schools,
so I'm told....

You and I both know, children are all worth
the same. And deserve the best that can
be given.

I went to a grade school that got the old
stage curtain from a school in a better
district, as they got a new one. They
had cooking classes, we had one lesson
of cooking when a woman came by with
a makeshift little 2 by 4 showing us how
to make mush! Yes, I know about the
discrimination in schools. But to still
have it is a disgrace.

Lynn, my dipiction was of what our political world has already decided. I have a whitboard (several) in my office. To say I would have time to hide behind one if a shooter suddenly appeared is stupid.
Fact: Poor children are less considered in this country.
Fact: There are people who consider themselves better than other Americans.
Fact: The mentally ill have been underserved for the past 40 years!
Fact: This county is FLOODED with every type of weapon you could imagine already.
Myth: More guns make us safer!
I need instuction and a license to operate my car but I can buy a gun and use it within minutes!!!
