Opinions on Lance Armstrong

Postby Grandma Lynn on Fri Jan 18, 2013 8:49 pm

HIs confession reminds me of politicians,
actors, etc. that get caught up in wrong
doings.
After awhile, we seem to forgive and
they are back in business. One that
comes to mind is Charlie Sheen. Saw
him on TV being interviewed and he
still seems under the influence. Rocking
back and forth, etc.
So Armstrong finally confessed. What
do you think his plan is? Some think he
wants to get back in the race. I think his
days are over.
People don't like to be lied to. I'm sure
there are others who can take his place
and not be drugged up.

Did you watch the interview on Oprah? I totally forgot and missed it. It's really sad and disappointing in my opinion and I'm not even a big cycling fan. I mean this guy recovered from cancer and still won the tour de France this guy's a legend, a hero, but not anymore. He still did great things even for a doper but I'm sure he'll suffer from a lot of lawsuits and I don't think there's anyway he'll be welcomed to any race like you said, his days are over.
In a way it's sorta a good thing he got caught because now maybe sports organizations will toughen up on dopers, esp cyclists.

He is the worst kind of cheater. He not only doped, but openly flaunted the system, receiving all of he accolades and money, and fame . I post on the Mariner forum, and I have always said the same thing there about baseball players who cheated with PEDS They should have their personal achievement records stripped, and never ever be allowed into the Hall of Fame.

Something for kids to look up to, these
sports figures.
Betsy Andrea, wife of a former Armstrong
teammate, was interviewed on CNN and
was not happy about all this.
Seems he's a very intimidating person.
Saw bits and pieces of the interview with
Oprah.

I agree with both of you. perhaps it's the steroids that make him so intimidating.

Well, the steroids didn't help any!
But we are learning that he's always
had a personality that has to be on
top. I'm sure we'll find out more, even
if we don't care anymore. He's a loser.
Hope his money goes to his cancer
organization!

Not only did he cheat and lie; he also viciously went after anyone who questioned him. Oh, how we rallied behind him and his "Live Strong Foundation!" He humiliated this nation and seems to have no regret. I sure hope he gets what he deserves at this point.
