Guns let's talk Guns.

Postby redeye81 on Tue Jan 15, 2013 10:08 pm

I say we take the NRA up with their option. There is about 50 million household with guns in america (including mine).. With that power creates great responsibility.. Anyone with guns should pay say $1000 per year to arm our schools. That money goes to protect our children at EVERY school in america.. 50millon times $1000 dollar i bet we can afford it.. I am willing to pay to protect my kids..It's either all or nothing.. Put your money on the line dammit..

This money goes to pay for armed guards in EVERY school.. The gun companies can donate the guns (I am sure they won't mind).. If you don't want to pay turn in your gun.. Simple as that.. your choice..

But why just schools, there are many other places where mass shootings have occured. In the past few years, they've happened at a theater, a mall, a grocery store, a restaurant, a temple, businesses... are we to only be safe now at schools with armed guards? Has that ever made us safe?

I'm not sure the payment aspect of your plan is feasible either.

Formidable Republican Opposition

Or how about we just stop with all the over dramatic outrage over everything President Obama does or doesn't do. It reminds of that old story about the boy who cried wolf. If everything President Obama does is said to be unconstitutional, an attack on liberty, and attack freedom, an attack on religion, an attack on the free market, an attack on your grandmother's first cousin's step-sister's pet parakeet, how are people going to identify when, and if, there is a real cause for concern. Simmer down now, he isn't Hitler, he isn't coming for your guns, he isn't going to destroy the nation. What he is doing is playing the part of a President and responding to a nation that had enough and is calling for action. Like it or not, he was elected to his second term because the majority of the American people voted for and entrusted this man to act within his power and on behalf of the people. Well done Mr. President. Thank you.
And thank you The John Fugelsang Page for never failing to make me laugh when articulating just how ridiculous politics has become.

Yes, people voted for change, and boy,
did they get it!
And to vote him in again is asking for
more.....
Do we want America, or be changed
so much we don't recognize it anymore?
If it was for the good, the changes, well
fine. But so far I haven't seen any
good changes....

Probably not, but I think since most of us still recognize our country, we're okay.

Well, of course YOU won't let yourself see them, will you?

Just what has the President done that is so atrocious?

No, he is not perfect. Not at all, but he was duly voted in twice by the majority of the voters, which is more than we can say for the fraudulent election of Mr., Bush. The majority of the nation wants gun control measures. That is what America is about. That is America, and has always been America. IT is the government of the people, by the people, for the people, the will of the people. Mr. Obama is not proposing anything that the majority of Americans don't want. What is so hard to understand about that?

So, Lynn, you want to see assault rifles be legal, and no type of restriction on gun ownership? How about if we make tanks and Tomahawk missiles legal? Why in the name of blue blazes does any person of sound mind want high powered weapons to be in the hands of the average Joe on the street?

Why, would you not want health coverage for all Americans?

I didn't say I wanted assault rifles to be legal...
What I do know is AR-15 is just a rifle. Not an
assault rifle. The military is fully automatic, the
other semi-automatic.
And I didn't say there should be NO restrictions.
I am of sound mind and don't want military type
weapons on the streets....so there!

So, who needs an AR-15? Deer hunting? The only purpose of this type is to kill. I read that they can fire 400 rounds a minute. So, what the heck are you shooting at? Oh yes, I remember, it is for when our own government, which is us, by the way, invades ourselves with black helicopters, and tanks, to take away all of our rights.

How can anyone believe that? And to tie gun ownership in with God, like some do, is blasphemy in the highest form.
"it;s my God given right to own any gun I want to own" Wow, what scriptures do they read?
