But I don't think all teachers are qualified to carry
a gun, let alone use it.

It would be a long process. We would start by reducing the availability of certain types of weaponry, and to make the need for people to be trained, licensed and registered - like we do for cars! That will slowly start to reduce the amount of guns in circulation.

And tell me why that would help?

It would reduce the number of weapons that can be used in such violent crimes, thereby reducing victims and the ease of the attackers to cause damage.

And DON'T tell me the gangs wouldn't
have guns....

Of course, they would have guns, and everyone else would have guns, but all would begin to have less and less.
