Just watched "Sweet Mana Dog Interacting
with a Beautiful Child with Down's Syndrome"
It's on YouTube and if this doesn't touch your
heart, nothing will!
This is certainly a RAVE!

Beautiful Child with Down's Syndrome, that's just sad. I mean, knowing that people with mental disorders will never live a full life, I wouldn't wanna watch something like that, you know?

Sad? No! They are a beautiful gift. After spending 17 years caring for 7 individuals I am humbled. They are my age but have wisdom far surpassing anyone here. Unconditional love was their central focus. Nonjudgemental as well. And............................Santa is real!!!

We can't shield ourselves from the reality
of life.
I do understand where you are coming from
mafeki, but like beenthere said, they are the
most loving people. We had a home close to
us where handicapped people lived, Mainly
young. One would walk down to our little store
and had a job of sweeping, etc. for the owner.
He was so proud.
Others of us are handicapped in different ways.
Don't shun them, give them a smile and they
will return it.....
We really don't know, but I think they live a full
life, in their way.....I agree tho, it is sad they
weren't given a perfect body. Others have a
perfect body and destroy it, instead of thanking
God for it!

You know might sound awful, it's not a nervous thing, but people with mental disorders make me laugh. I don't like seeing it, it's sad but I just can't help but laugh, they do weird things. I just try to avoid it if I can, it has to be in person for me to find the humor in it.

I think, personally, that it is a nervous
reaction. Nothing strange about that.
I remember my husband and I were
leaving a store and there was a creepy
looking guy acting strange. I kind of
laughed, not loud or anything. My
husband didn't like that I did that. So
I figured out why I did that. I was
somewhat scared of him. He certainly
wasn't funny. And I didn't laugh at him
directly, kind of a self inflicted laugh. I
don't know how to explain it. Maybe with
you, you are embarrassed for them.
We all react differently. Nonchalant or
just plain don't pay any attention to them.

The reason I said I didn't think it was a nervous thing because it's not really a uncomfortable laugh, the only time it gets uncomfortable is when I have to leave the room because I don't want to indicate what I'm laughing at. Yeah I know it seems mean but I'm the same way with midgets, I just burst out laughing. Sorta immature I know.

Hmmm, if you are really young, then
I'll mark it up to that. We learn as we
live.
No, I wasn't suggesting it was "mean".
Maybe not understanding how to react,
if you even need to. Which you don't.
Either way, just act normal and think
what you want.
Dwarfs and midgets aren't the same.
Midgets are scaled perfectly like a doll.
Dwarfs are short, but have normal heads,
and shorter arms and legs....and I might
add, smart! Sometime watch the program
on them. Where they are married and how
they live.
