White House ‘secede’ petitions reach 675,000 signatures, 50-state participation

Less than a week after a New Orleans suburbanite petitioned the White House to allow Louisiana to secede from the United States, petitions from seven states have collected enough signatures to trigger a promised review from the Obama administration.

By 6:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, more than 675,000 digital signatures appeared on 69 separate secession petitions covering all 50 states, according to a Daily Caller analysis of requests lodged with the White House’s “We the People” online petition system.

A petition from Vermont, where talk of secession is a regular feature of political life, was the final entry.

looks to me that something is brewing through out the country. Americans are willing to fight for their constitution and we may end up with a revolt......whether you supported Romney or Obama, something totally stinks about the Nov 6th elections. Nothing about it makes any sense especially where there were areas where Romney didn't get one vote....that's simply unbelievable! Am I the only one who questions the results of last weeks election????

Yes, something is rotten and not in Denmark.
(an old saying).
I can't see signing my name on that petition.
You know, once your name is on a list.
Call me suspicious.
I don't think they will help anything, and not
a revolution either.
When Romney didn't get even one vote in
59 voting places in PA. and also in Cleveland,
Of course that would raise a question of
something is fishy!

Signing that petition(s) has got to be one of the dumbest thing a person could do.

We have a president that signed a bill allowing him to snatch a US citizen off the streets and hold them without trial indefinitely. We also have a president that used a drown to kill a US citizen, without being convicted of anything. Sure he was overseas, but he was still a US citizen.

Secession was tried ....3 quarter million died. The problem indicated by the above comments is a foreboding of a greater danger that a mere petition cannot fix.

King Bush created that mandate and Obama is keeping it. You all loved it at the time didn't you? You'd be supporting the same if Romney won wouldn't you? Such hypocrits!

How many American citizens did Bush kill with drone strikes? I know of one, Kamal Derwish who happened to be traveling with Qaed Salim Sinan al-Harethi, of Yemen, the suspected mastermind of the USS Cole bombing when al-Harethi was killed, Derwish was killed as well. Derwish wasn't the target, unlike the obama's victims. The targeted killing of American citizens is an obama creation.

Wrong question. How many did he kill in total with his illegal trumped up war in Iraq? He, Cheney and Rumsfeld are now war criminals and wanted should they leave the United States. My other question is why we are no trying them for war crimes!

No it's the right question. Nice try. Obama has a kill list, he said it himself. He chose to kill an American citizen who was not convicted of any crime. Those are the facts.

If you decide you want to clean up the present then you must also clean up the cause which was Bush! It most certainly was the correct question!
