I-502 expands DUI laws to include marijuana users, so that officers could test drivers and if they have a certain level (I seem to remember 0.5 mg, but I could be wrong) of active THC in the blood, that is a DUI.

I know this specific provision is what upset some people I know, as medical marijuana users now could be at risk for DUI if they have to drive somewhere. Also, others think that 0.5 mg level is entirely arbitrary, and isn't a high enough level for impairment. I've also seen some critics say that in long-time users, "active" THC can remain in the blood for a while. It's all relatively new research, and THC in the blood isn't as easy to measure the influence like BAC is.

From what I heard they're going to be doing cheek swabs, though that's just what someone told me.

carry swabs now?

From what I seen on cops they already do. Sorry, I don't really have much to add from that point but with all the drug test, emergency birth kits, that police have to carry already I don't think it'd be a big deal. I'm not sure Washington's police have to be trained for emergency births.

.And tonight, my sister and her partner of 18 years will actually be married in a ceremony, and they will finally have all of the rights and privileges that straight couples have enjoyed. Of course, they will also have all of the not so rosy things that straight couples have, too. But after being together for 18 years, I am sure that they are fully aware of leaving the toothpaste cap off of the toothpaste. :D
Congratulations, sis, wish I could be there.
