Obamacare - from an old friend

"Thank you so much, Amerika.

Regarding Obamacare and our lack of a future:
I have been saying this for two years. If nothing else, I am the ultimate political junkie. I did my work quite well from 2000-2008, going 87-5 in elections in which I played a major role. One of my clients was the Commonwealth of Massachusettes, where they had to amend the state constitution to allow for Romneycare.

When Obamacare came about, I had been retired due to my health. With nothing but time on my hands, I read the bill, both the before and after versions. I asked questions of the staff of people like my Rep at the time, Dave Reichert, and David Dreier and John Kline, people who were my old clients. Incidentally, there are VAST differences between Romneycare and Obamacare.

While the elderly will suffer, those who will suffer immediately are people like me, between 51 and 65 who are totally disabled due to chronic and/or terminal illnesses. We will no longer receive ANY curative care. It will be only PALLIATIVE care. If you don't know the difference, please ask.

Jan. 1, I will lose three of the medications needed to keep me alive every day. If I live to Jan. 1, 2014, my current care providers will no longer be able to care for me. I can't even use them private pay, unless they want to run the risk of being found out and going to the federal pen. My care will be determined by a bureaucrat somewhere, someone who doesn't know s*t from Shinola.

This isn't just about me. We are talking about as many as 8 million Americans in that age group.

And here is the even sadder part: it also applies to children under 18. Children with chronic illnesses like Type 1 diabetes or cystic fibrosis, among others, WILL RECEIVE ONLY PALLIATIVE CARE.

Nancy Pelosi quite famously said we would have to read it to know what is in it. I have been lathering about this for TWO YEARS. We did have a little hope out there: Romney would win, Obamacare would be repealed, there would be hope.

Now our hope is gone. I hate it for myself, of course, but I really hate it for the little children who have now been consigned to a life where they will never see adulthood. We are like the folks herded into the Colisseum. The emperor gave us a thumbs down, but the people had a chance to save us.

Now, the people of the United States of America have given us a final thumbs down. The lions, which have not been fed for days, are pacing their cages, ready for the gate to be raised, and the gatekeeper's hands are on the chain, ready to let 'er rip".

We are copying Germany after their currency collapsed. And bet on this, ours will too soon enough. Germany rationed / stopped medical care to many and just let them die.
